Raytheon beats Lockheed to develop miniature self-defense missile for AFRL

The Air Force Research Laboratory has selected Raytheon as the winner of a $375 million contract to develop the secretive miniature self-defense missile after a months-long bidding competition with Lockheed Martin. Raytheon will receive $93 million for the MSDM program's first task order, which will be completed in Tucson, AZ, by October 2023. The Air Force obligated about $27 million at the time of the award.
