Raytheon faces competition for Advanced Gun System projectile

Raytheon is facing competition from a joint BAE Systems and Leonardo Defence Systems offering for the Advanced Gun System projectile used on the Zumwalt-class guided missile destroyer. In November, the Navy canceled the Long Range Land Attack Projectile program, manufactured by Lockheed Martin and BAE, citing the price tag for the 155 mm round as too high.
