Science Board: New DOD Office Needed to Boost Focus on Early Program Testing

June 10, 2008 -- Senior Defense Department leaders should reinstate the position of director of developmental test and evaluation to help counter a trend toward weapon systems' failing crucial performance benchmarks, the Defense Science Board says in a new report.
