SDA, MDA still defining responsibilities for space-based missile tracking capability

As the new Space Development Agency continues to map its strategy for a missile tracking and detection layer, it is working closely with the Missile Defense Agency to determine which organization will be responsible for which capabilities. SDA Director Derek Tournear told reporters today the agency plans to issue a solicitation this spring or summer for missile tracking and detection technologies -- part of its vision for a proliferated small satellite constellation in low-earth orbit consisting of eight capability layers...
