Second Ft. Greely Interceptor Could Be in the Ground By Mid-August

The Missile Defense Agency could have the second of six interceptor rockets planned for Ft. Greely, AK, in the ground by the middle of next month, with another handful due to be emplaced by October, an MDA spokesman said this week. The agency expects to place the interceptors on alert status this year, but the spokesman could not say when that will happen. On July 22, the agency announced it had put the first Ft.
