Sen. Reed Departs for Iraq; Will Question Commanders on Troop Levels

Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, is leaving today for a three-day tour of Iraq and Afghanistan. Among the questions he will ask ground commanders there is whether troop levels and other resources are adequate as Iraq prepares for elections in January, the senator said.
