Senate Appropriations chairman's mark would boost Army procurement

The Senate's top appropriator aims to increase the Army's buying power in fiscal year 2018, adding more than $4.1 billion to the service's procurement account in the chairman's mark released Nov. 21. A measure from Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Thad Cochran (R-MS) would add $935.4 million to aircraft procurement, boosting the portfolio to nearly $5.1 billion and providing airframes included in the service's list of unfunded priorities.
