Senate appropriators propose $100 million plus-up for SBIRS advanced sensors

In its mark of fiscal year 2019 defense spending legislation, the Senate Appropriations Committee is recommending an additional $100 million to speed advanced sensor development for the Air Force's Space-Based Infrared System follow-on effort. The committee's mark, which it approved June 28, comes after Senate authorizers proposed an identical plus-up in their version of the bill.
