Senate appropriators supportive of Marine Corps' Force Design plan

The Senate Appropriations Committee has expressed support for Marine Corps Commandant Gen. David Berger's force design initiatives in the panel's version of the fiscal year 2021 defense spending bill. Berger released his Commandant's Planning Guidance earlier this year, which said the service will focus on littoral combat and move away from legacy capabilities used to fight ground wars.
