Senate authorizers aim for ground combat vehicle prototype plan

Senate defense authorizers want the Army to develop a prototype plan for a new ground combat vehicle. In its defense policy bill for fiscal year 2018 released July 11, the Senate Armed Services Committee directs the Army secretary to submit a report to congressional defense committees outlining a plan to build a prototype within 90 days of the bill's enactment.
