Senate Authorizers Propose $631.4 Billion Defense Bill

The Senate Armed Services Committee today unanimously approved a $631.4 billion fiscal year 2013 defense authorization bill, rejecting proposed Air National Guard cuts. "We're within the president's budget . . . unlike the House of Representatives, which is about $4 billion over the president's budget request," said committee Chairman Sen. Carl Levin (D-MI).
