Senate Panel Cuts $9.1 Billion from DOD's FY-07 Budget Request

The Senate Appropriations Committee yesterday cut the Pentagon's fiscal year 2007 budget request by $9.1 billion to $453.5 billion. The panel voted to allocate $81 billion for procurement, $73 billion for research, development, test and evaluation and $50 billion to pay for operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
