Senate panel questions services' progress toward audit readiness

During a Nov. 19 nomination hearing , John Conger, the president's choice to serve as principal deputy to the Defense Department comptroller, told the Senate Armed Services Committee it is "absolutely critical" that DOD dedicate itself to passing a budgetary audit.
