Senate panel slashes funding for WIN-T, setting up conference fight

Senate authorizers last week voted to cut funding for the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical, the backbone of the Army network now under scrutiny by service leadership. The Senate Armed Services Committee on June 28 passed a fiscal year 2018 defense authorization bill that includes $448 million in funding cuts for WIN-T, spread across the procurement and research, development, test and evaluation accounts.
