Senate Panel Urges Pentagon To Cut Redundancy in EW, Drones

Senate authorizers are pressing the Pentagon to make cuts in electronic warfare, unmanned aircraft systems and other areas of duplication identified earlier this year by the Government Accountability Office. The newly released report accompanying the Senate Armed Services Committee's fiscal year 2013 defense authorization bill urges the Defense Department to take further action based on a Feb. 28 GAO study that identified 16 areas of duplication, overlap or potential savings related to DOD programs and operations.
