Senate passes coronavirus rescue bill with $10.5B for defense

The Senate voted 96-0 to pass a final $2 trillion coronavirus rescue package that would provide an additional $10.5 billion in defense spending. The bill would allocate $1.45 billion for Defense Working Capital Funds as the Defense Logistics Agency and military services work to help the Pentagon mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on “production lines, supply chain, military depots, and labs,” according to a summary of the legislation released by the Senate Appropriations Committee.
