Senate policymakers propose scaled-down Space Force with room for growth

The Senate Armed Services Committee this week took a step toward reorganizing the space enterprise, passing a fiscal year 2020 policy bill that would establish a Space Force within the Air Force. The committee's mark of the bill, which passed Wednesday, aims to stand up the new service while avoiding additional bureaucracy and cost, according to an executive summary released today.
