Senators ask Army commission to weigh Guard's disaster-response role

A group of 45 senators has written to the National Commission on the Future of the Army to request that National Guard priorities be reflected in the panel's upcoming report, including resourcing the reserves' domestic-response mission. The Oct. 29 letter to the panel's chairman , retired Gen. Carter Ham, comes as commission members near the beginning of their report-writing phase.
