Senators Call for Obama to Strongly Support Navy, Coast Guard Shipbuilding Efforts

Sens. Susan Collins (R-ME) and Mary Landrieu (D-LA) sent a letter Monday to the incoming Obama administration urging the new president to strongly support "robust" shipbuilding priorities that will help the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard reach its objectives afloat. The letter, which was signed by 18 fellow senators, states that "America's naval fleet is in decline."
