Shutdown Forces Mass Furloughs At DOD's Comptroller Shop

The government shutdown has led to furloughs for the vast majority of Pentagon Comptroller Robert Hale's staff, causing major disruptions to the Defense Department's fiscal year 2015 program and budget review, InsideDefense.com has learned. "Approximately 805 DOD civilians on comptroller staff [are] not exempted under current guidance and are being furloughed," Pentagon spokesman Cmdr. Bill Urban said.
