Singapore Requests AH-64D Apache Helicopters

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency today notified Congress that Singapore wants to purchase 12 AH-64D Apache helicopters for approximately $617 million. The Boeing-built helicopters would not be outfitted with the Longbow fire control radar, the agency said, although the radars may be purchased later. Singapore already has eight Apache Longbow helicopters. The country also wants spare engines, Hellfire missiles and launchers, rockets and other equipment, according to the DSCA statement.
