Space Force launches fifth GPS III satellite, first to fly with reused booster

The Space Force today launched its first mission to fly on a reused booster -- a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying the fifth GPS III satellite. The mission opens the door for SpaceX, and other companies in the future, to propose reusable rocket components in their bids for National Security Space Launch contracts and represents the culmination of a years-long process to develop reusability requirements that meet the service's high standards for mission assurance.
