State Department Clears $47 Million Hercules Sale To Australia

The State Department has given the thumbs up to a potential $47 million sale of six M88A2 Heavy Equipment Recovery Combat Utility Lift and Evacuation System (Hercules) vehicles to Australia. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency announced the deal in a Jan. 26 notice posted to its website. Australia will use the Hercules vehicles "to support its deterrent capabilities against regional threats and to strengthen its homeland defense," the announcement states.
