Supplemental request boosts Navy aircraft purchases, readiness funding

The White House's $30 billion fiscal year 2017 budget amendment proposal -- dubbed the supplemental -- includes more than $2 billion to fund the Navy's ship operations accounts and $4 billion to purchase more aircraft for the sea service. The supplemental request addresses many of the items in the Navy's FY-17 unfunded priorities list , which was sent to Congress in January.
