Surface ships, submarines drop in material readiness, INSURV finds

The Navy's surface ship and submarine fleets both experienced drops in material readiness during fiscal year 2020, according to the Navy Board of Inspection and Survey's annual report. The report, released earlier this week , states that declines in surface ship and submarine readiness over the past three years have driven the overall fleet's downward trend.
