Think Tank: Technological Hurdles Could Hold Up Fielding of New Bomber

Technological challenges may delay Air Force plans to field by 2018 a new long-range bomber that is capable of penetrating heavily defended airspace to strike faraway targets, according to a new report from the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington. The Air Force plans to buy approximately 100 of the new aircraft, with a demonstration flight scheduled for 2011.
