Townsend confirmed for fourth star; will lead TRADOC

Army Training and Doctrine Command is poised to get a new leader. On Dec. 20, the Senate confirmed by voice vote Lt. Gen. Stephen Townsend, commander of the XVIII Airborne Corps, who was nominated for a fourth star on Nov. 27. Townsend has commanded the XVIII Airborne Corps at Ft. Bragg, NC since 2015.
