Trump signs NDAA amid budget negotiations

President Trump today signed the Fiscal Year 2018 National Defense Authorization Act into law, further intensifying partisan budget talks on Capitol Hill over defense spending. Though Trump said "brand new beautiful equipment is on its way," the amount authorized for defense in the NDAA , which passed Congress with bipartisan support, breaks a spending cap set by the 2011 Budget Control Act by nearly $80 billion.
