Trump's military goals exceed cost caps by $295B, CBO says

President Trump's plans for a military buildup, which include a 355-ship Navy and the increase of more than 200,000 troops, exceed legislative cost caps by $295 billion over the next four years and would drive the Pentagon's base budget to $688 billion by 2027, according to the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office.
