Two key Army IT programs see cuts in draft Senate defense-policy bill

Senate defense authorizers propose to cut funding for the Army's Warfighter Information Network-Tactical and the service's Distributed Common Ground System. The reductions are detailed in a lengthy fact sheet released by the Senate Armed Services Committee following the mark-up of the fiscal year 2017 defense authorization bill. The panel approved the legislation May 12 by a 23-3 vote.
