U-2's MDC2 role at Northern Edge hints at open-architecture possibilities

Lockheed Martin repurposed its U-2S as a multidomain command-and-control aircraft during the Air Force's Northern Edge exercise earlier this year, using it to relay intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance data and direct a missile to its target.
