U.S. European Command Forms Joint Task Force-Lebanon, Takes Over for CENTCOM

The Pentagon has directed U.S. European Command to take the lead for U.S. military support in the vicinity of Lebanon and the eastern Mediterranean Sea beginning Aug. 23, a senior military official announced today.
