Warner Rebuffs House Lawmakers on 'Buy America' Provisions

Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman John Warner (R-VA) tonight rebuffed an attempt by House lawmakers to push the Senate into supporting "Buy America" provisions, which lack the full support of the Bush administration. In an Oct. 1 letter to House Armed Services Committee Chairman Duncan Hunter (R-CA), Warner said the issue is so important that it should be "carefully reviewed" by the Bush administration, perhaps by a presidential commission, and "most certainly" through hearings in both the Senate and House...
