White House Names New DOD Congressional Liaison

The White House announced yesterday that Powell Moore will be nominated to serve as assistant secretary of defense for legislative affairs. Moore is the chief of staff for Sen. Fred Thompson (R-TN). According to a White House statement, he was appointed assistant secretary of state for intergovernmental and legislative affairs in 1982; before that he served as President Reagan's deputy assistant for legislative affairs. Moore is also an Army veteran.
