Wind Corrected Munitions Dispenser Achieves Operational Capability

The Air Force's Wind Corrected Munitions Dispenser program has reached its operational capability milestone now that 150 units are in place for B-52s and 130 are ready for use by F-16s, program officials said today. The guidance upgrade kits are designed for the CBU-87 Combined Effects Munition area attack weapon, but future WCMD units will be installed on CBU-97 Sensor Fuzed Weapons and CBU-89 Gator Mines as well.
