Work on New Strategic Communication Plans on Hold, DOD Official Says

Defense Department officials have put on hold the development of new country- and region-specific strategic communication plans until senior Pentagon leaders make some fundamental decisions about the future of the program, a DOD official said today. Pentagon officials want to develop five such plans annually in fiscal year 2008 and thereafter, according to a budget justification document released earlier this month as part of the FY-09 defense budget request.
