President Bush today nominated Navy acquisition executive John Young to replace Ronald Sega as the Pentagon's new director of defense research and engineering. In his current job as assistant secretary of the Navy for research, development and acquisition, Young oversees acquisition programs worth billions of dollars, including shipbuilding and the purchase of aircraft, missiles and information technology.
