Navy acquisition executive John Young today touted a $149 million contract award to General Dynamics' Electric Boat shipyard for the cruise missile submarine conversion program. The deal is a modification to a previously awarded contract for the conversion of the ballistic missile submarine Florida (SSBN-728) and installation planning for the conversion of the sub Georgia (SSBN-729).
