Pentagon acquisition chief John Young admits he is upset with Bell Helicopter Textron for failing to make the Marine Corps' UH-1Y utility helicopter more maneuverable, but he accuses operational testers of overstating the problem. In an interview today with Inside the Navy , Young criticized operational testers for concluding the UH-1Y has a major deficiency that limits its flying abilities at high gross weights and high altitudes.
