Zumwalt returns from Pacific, will undergo more work before first traditional deployment

After test-driving stealth destroyer Zumwalt (DDG-1000) in the Indo-Pacific for three months, the Navy's troubled ship class had a successful first employment but will undergo more upgrades and testing before it conducts a full deployment. Zumwalt left San Diego on Aug. 1 for an “operational employment” to 3rd and 7th Fleets and returned Nov. 10.
