GAO report on the nuclear weapons stockpile

The Oct. 15, 2020 Government Accountability Office report finds that "to maintain and modernize the U.S. nuclear weapons stockpile, the National Nuclear Security Administration needs a supply of depleted uranium metal (a by-product of enriching uranium to make nuclear fuel) to manufacture nuclear weapon components. But, its supply is dwindling, and critical manufacturing capabilities have been dormant."
