Air Force takes next step toward domestic rocket launcher with LSA RFP

The Air Force has released a request for proposals for the next phase of its next-generation launch vehicle development program -- continuing its strategy to eliminate its reliance on the Russian-made RD-180 rocket engine. The Launch Services Agreements RFP is designed to leverage commercial technology to meet national security space requirements through public-private partnerships with industry.
