Army abandons planned cuts to officer corps in FY-17

Following legislative action in late 2016, the Army has halted plans to reduce the number of officers this year. The move is part of an effort to comply with the terms of the Fiscal Year 2017 National Defense Authorization Act, which halts the drawdown of the service outlined in the president's budget request.
