DOD to require 'enhanced' cyber protections from contractors working on 'critical' programs

The Pentagon will as soon as March increase cybersecurity requirements for contractors working on "critical" technology programs. In a previously unreported Nov. 26 letter to the Senate Armed Services Committee, then-Deputy Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan responded to concerns lawmakers had about defense contractors managing the government's controlled unclassified information (CUI).
