Bidders are relying on proven designs in the fast-paced competition to produce a lighter-weight Mine Resistant Ambush Protected All-Terrain Vehicle meant for the tough Afghan terrain. At least five companies or teams submitted written proposals in response to the solicitation for the program, which next month requires production-representative vehicles from competitors.
