The Pentagon wants to deploy Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense-equipped ships to the Eastern Mediterranean Sea and use a forward-based sensor in Southeastern Europe to defend NATO allies in the first phase of President Obama's new missile defense plan for Europe, officials testified last week.
