Navy releases guided missile frigate replacement RFI

The Navy has released its long-awaited request for information for the guided missile frigate replacement program, which is the follow-on to the controversial Littoral Combat Ship program. The service plans to award a detail design and construction contract in fiscal year 2020 for the next evolution of the small surface combatant -- dubbed the future Guided Missile Frigate (FFG(X)), according to the RFI posted on the Federal Business Opportunities website.
