The next administration will likely cut defense spending but various factors will make it hard to do so, acting Pentagon Comptroller Douglas Brook said this week. The new president will enter the White House as the United States faces a massive budget deficit, over $10 trillion in debt and continuing war costs that could ultimately total $2 trillion, he said.
