AFA changes name to Air and Space Forces Association

The Air Force Association announced today it is rebranding to incorporate the Space Force into its name and logo -- a change the group's chair said would make "clear to everyone that space is integral to our mission."

While the group will retain its three-letter acronym, “AFA,” officials are changing the full name to the Air and Space Forces Association, according to a press release this morning. A new star-delta logo comes with the tweak, incorporating elements from the current Space Force logo.

"Just as the Air Force was an offshoot of the Army, our Space Force was born two years ago from the roots of our Air Force,” AFA Chair Gerald Murray said in the release. “Today, both military services are represented by the Department of the Air Force and thus both are fully represented by our association.”
