Applied Insight buys Digital Age Experts

Applied Insight will announce today it last year acquired Digital Age Experts, which specializes in cloud system design, cloud-native development and development security operations for the government.

The acquisition was completed in August.

In an interview with Inside Defense, John Hynes, Applied Insight's chief executive, said integration of DAE is under way.

He said the acquisition brought a base of contracts, 50 employees and intellectual property in the form of Shift, DAE's cloud emulation platform. The platform allows uncleared developers to see if software will work in a classified environment.

"It goes hand in glove with what we're doing," Hynes said.

Last year, Applied Insight disclosed two 2018 acquisitions: Applied Technology Group and Stratus Solutions.

Now, Hynes said, "we're focused on organic growth."

"We've added DAE to the fold," he added. "We think it really rounds out our intellectual property offerings."
